Dear Michaela,

Today was a long day, and I'm kind of tired.  I'm really going to have to go to bed soon, but I wanted to just stop by and say hello.  I know you may wonder how much a part of my life you still are after all these years, so I thought we could play a game, like I Spy or Where's Waldo.  This is Where's Michaela.  Well, that's kind of ironic, isn't it?  I'm going to start with my refrigerator.  I took this photo today.  How many Michaelas can you find on it?

I'll post the correct answer tomorrow!

Most of the photos of you that we have distributed are photos that you had never seen.  Remember, we used to take tons of pictures and just hang onto the rolls of film?  Well, we got them developed, so we'd have current photos to show the world who we were looking for.  You have probably seen a lot of them by now, though.

There is one more photo of you on the refrigerator, that you can't actually see in this picture.  On the top left hand side, you can see the bottom of a milk carton.  You are the child on that milk carton.

I will write more soon.  Until then, just remember that I love you forever!  (Do you remember where that phrase comes from?)

  1. Sharon-
I wanted to say that I am so very sorry for your pain. I am embarrassed by my struggles and pain I am going through because nothing can possibly compare to the loss of a child. My thoughts and blessing are with you.

  2. I think your letters directly to Michaela is a wonderful idea, I think you'll touch her heart and make her smile, wherever she is...

  3. I agree that letters directly to Michaela is truly a wonderful idea.

Who knows if the Holy Spirit will take the words to her.

I think of Richard Wurmbrand (Voice of the Martyrs) who spent 14 years in prison for Christ.
He tells a story of preaching sermons to the walls of the prison cells. Years later, when he was freed, he traveled preaching those prison cell sermons and a man told him that he had heard that very sermon one night in his bed, when he was at the end of his strength.

In fact, more than one person told him that.

  4. Games always have a winner....and I am confident we'll win-- and more importantly YOU will win-- and know where Michaela is.
