  1. What would you do if this is where/how she ended up? Provided police or fbi wouldnt do anything because its like finding a needle in a haystack, would you go look for her yourself? just curious is all.
ps, I hope this wasn't her fate!

  5. Did they check the palm print of the guy who just killed himself?I remember you saying years ago there was a palm print on the scooter.

  6. Christine, I love that quote. And yes, they actually pulled the palm prints on Shermantine and Herzog years ago when they were first arrested.

  7. What would do if you found out she was there but the police or FBI couldn't do much ? Would you just go look for her yourself? Hoping she isn't there though that would be horrible.

  8. I would do whatever would be most likely to help in getting her home.

  9. I hit enter too fast! :) Sorry! I just sent the link to http://www.missingabroad.org. Perhaps they could lend support by letting you know what agencies you could contact in that area or at least point you in the right direction for help.

    Many blessing Mrs. Sharon..

  10. A lot of people say that they hope this wasn't her fate. Yes this wouldn't be an ideal life for an abducted child, but she would be alive! Her fate isn't over yet. She has a chance to reunite with her family. Jaycee went through hell I'm sure but she wouldn't trade her children for anything as any caring parent wouldn't. Maybe Michaela is in a similar situation with children. Children change your fate. They can turn a hellish situation into something bearable...and a reason to go on. She might have been through a rough life but it is her life. Her family (and possibly her children) aren't going to love her any less. Whatever has happened or is happening to Michaela is what it is. If she is half as strong as her mother she has been able to cope. When she is found their family will work through it together. That's a fate worth living for.

  11. Michaela is out there somewhere. Whether in life or through spirit, she's out there. Here's the problem though, there are a lot of "somes" and a lot of "wheres" to search in the world. But please don't forget that a person can't just disappear and evaporate into thin air. While yes, they can be hidden, that's only because someone hasn't looked or thought to look there yet. I do believe that Michaela is alive and I pray for her homecoming everyday. I sure hope it's soon! I wish you, Michaela, and your family nothing but the absolute very best. She'll come home one day, I promise. :)

    Love, Melissa :)

  12. Do you post all comments?

  13. I don't post ALL comments though, so if you don't see your comment and you want a reply you can always include an e-mail address, or just e-mail me directly at sharon.murch@gmail.com.

  14. Anonymous, that e-mail address didn't work! I didn't post your message because I didn't want to give people the idea of doing that, and it's not something I would do myself, although I appreciate you trying to think of ideas. Thanks.

  15. Any updates on the dig?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I have no idea on the current state of the dig, and I don't think anybody is particularly trying to associate it with Michaela anymore, now that Shermantine has clarified that he never said he knew anything about Michaela's case. And as I also pointed out, although Herzog is one of many lookalikes to our composite, he did not have the most prominent feature the eyewitness noticed, and that was really bad acne, like boils on his face.

  17. Well that is good! Do you ever find it strange so many people are interested in this case? Considering that most don't know you or Michaela personally?

    ReplyDelete
  18. No, I don't find it strange at all. I believe Michaela's spirit has a light that draws people, and I believe that her life in this world has a purpose beyond her suffering, or mine for that matter. Part of my purpose, in addition to finding her, is just simply to keep that light alive.

  19. Sharon,
You might want to check out
http://www.facebook.com/aljazeera?sk=wall. This is a widely read newspaper in the middle east http://www.aljazeera.com/
Perhaps you can explore ways of getting Michaela's story featured on their blogs/sections- just throwing it out there.

    As always hoping for you....

  21. I just wanted to say that despite losing twins at birth to group B strep, and the crushing life-changing aftermath of that for me... I simply can't wrap my head around what you must've gone through in the last 23 years. I am so so sorry for the pain you and your family must have experienced.

I hope you will accept my well wishes and hope for a happy outcome for you and Michaela and all the lost children out there.

    1. Annie, I am very sorry for your loss. It's funny, because Michaela had a beta strep infection as a newborn. It was caught only because she had to go back into the hospital for jaundice. I probably would not have noticed it until it was too late.

Thank you for your kind wishes, and I send mine to you as well.

I've read you for years in silence but with hope, and maybe I have an idea to share with you about the UAE.
Maybe you have alreday done that.

Do you know about Ms Joy Ngozi Ezeilo ? She is the special rapporteur on trafficking in persons for the United Nations.
The UAE (sorry if I've made english grammar or spelling mistakes, I'm french) invited her to visit the UAE from april 11 to 17, 2012 (source www.wam.ae)
Because (I think that's why) they want that she give them her support to the UAE's candidacy for membership of the Council from 2013 to 2015.

I think that she is the one who can give the age progression flyer to those in charge with that thema there.

You can or maybe investigators can reach her :

Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons c/o Office Of the High Commissioner for Human Rights
    United Nations at Geneva
    8-14 avenue de la Paix

    Switzerland

    Fax: (+41 22) 917 90 06

E-mail: SRtrafficking AT ohchr.org (please include in the subject box: Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons)

I really hope that could help.
