Dateline interview: Hope and Fear, and Getting Through

I came across this clip this morning. Someone mentioned Dateline and I brought up the show they did on Michaela previously. They did an excellent job, with interviews with Michaela's friend who witnessed the kidnapping, and the detective. But watching this clip took me back to one of the most difficult times of my life. This was when, after 20+ years of plowing through, during the investigation into the Garridos. Amazingly, it has gotten only more difficult since then.  Michaela, however hard this has been for me, I know it has been harder for you. Remember, you are strong. You are beautiful. You are loved. You can be free. Pray for God to take your hand and lead you out.

Love you forever.

  4. Dear Sharon,
I'm praying for you today and always. I cried when I watched the Dateline video. I can't even imagine how you feel after all these years. You amaze me with your inspiration and strength with all of this deep hurt you have went through, and are still going through.
I have a yellow bow hanging outside on my house for Michaela, and a candle that will be burning all day, and I'm praying for God to touch your life right now, and for always in a Miraculous, and great way.
Praying and believing for Michaela to be found.

  6. I think about Michaela frequently. You both were in my thoughts yesterday. Wouldn't it be grand if the next time you hang the ribbons at the market Michaela appears. What a surprise that would be. Hope she comes home sooner though.

  7. Sharon, Did anyone at the market see the kidnapper or car. After Trina ran in I thought maybe someone saw the car when they came out of the store. I was just wondering how long the man was at the market before the girls arrived or if he went into the market beforehand. I guess it could be a possibility that he saw them riding the scooters to the store and followed them.

  8. Sharon I have so much admiration for you. You could have crawled into that black hole and stayed there but you didn't. You didn't have to take in the joy that your other children gave you but you did. You're a wonderful, loving person, despite all you've been through. Thank you for reminding me of the strength and resilience of the human spirit.

  9. I watched Trina's interview and I want someone to tell her that she shouldn't feel guilty about anything! It was not her fault, she was just a little girl too, what could have she done in that situation? She certainly helped the police as well as she could. The kidnapper would have taken her if she went for the scooter. What I've read about the kidnapping, it seems that the guy planned to take the girl who would get the scooter, before that Michaela wasn't the chosen victim. Please do correct me if I'm wrong.
